Hi everyone!!!
yes we are alive.. and sorry for not updating everyone from the beginning... internet was relatively expensive... (5 baht per minute on the island, compared to the 0.5 baht per min in bangkok..)
i wont tell all we did in one big post.. ill just go over the next stop we did from koh payam.. which was.. as it says on top.. Kao Sok national park:
the national park is beautiful !! lush green every where .. and the area is surrounded with these huge mountainous limestone formations... looks very much like the krabi area ("james bond" islands) or Halong bay in Vietnam... but these are on land.. and in this national park they made a dam.. so the whole area is filled with a huge fresh water lake... very nice.. we slept for a night on the lake in floating bungalows.. and did a few walks in the jungle.. including a 2 hour walk in a huge cave with running water... neck high water so some of the time your actually swimming.. brrrr... very cold... but was lots of fun.. and we met our animal mascot for the trip -
The Gibbon
(dad - im sure you will post a lot of important info on the gibbon.. :) )
We have been carrying a gibbon with us since and he likes us very much and we like him ;) and he makes lovely calling noises in the morning and near sunset.. and most of the day too :)
you can find more about gibbons here including photos and sounds :)
if you can suggest any names for our gibbon mascot we will be very happy.. so come on..
POST YOUR COMMENTS!!.. the commenter with the best suggestion will receive a shiny old mangy limping thai dog FREE!!! so what are you waiting for ?
the whole jungle is filled with gibbons, monkeys (3 species), lots of cave bats, cave crickets (which eat the bat shit), spiders (including the cave spider which eats the crickets above), many many lovely colorful butterflies, fish birds etc etc etc... and how could i forget... Cicadas.... lots of them... the loudest i have ever heard... all the time...the locals call it.. "jungle music"... doesnt that sound nice??
after another night we moved on south towards our next destination - Koh Lipe..
which will be described in the next post...
i have finally (yes i know it took a while) posted some photos here
more will follow (for some reason the contrast came out shitty in the pics i dunno if its the way the film guy turned them into jpg's or i didnt really use the poliriser correctly.. )
so enjoy the photos...
Lots of love and hopefully no more tsunamis for us for at least a month ok ?
(i know you guys had it harder with all the worrying :) )
